Rebates and concessions

What electricity and gas rebates or concessions can a household in New South Wales get in 2026-27?

In one line

In New South Wales a household can get the Low Income Household Rebate (up to $285 a year (retail customers); $313.50 for embedded network customers, for holders of a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, Low Income Health Care Card or Veteran Gold Card, named on the electricity account); the Family Energy Rebate (up to $180 a year (retail); $198 embedded network; $20 if the household also receives the Low Income Household Rebate, for households receiving Family Tax Benefit); the Seniors Energy Rebate ($200 a year, for self-funded retirees holding a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card); and the NSW Gas Rebate (up to $110 a year (retail); $121 embedded network, for eligible concession card holders with a gas account), each from the state government through the retailer or the state's own application. The Australian Government's Energy Bill Relief Fund ended 31 December 2025, so no Commonwealth credit applies to 2026 bills. Read from the government pages on 26 October 2026.
