Corrections and complaints

Every number on OpenStream cites the page it was read from and the time it was read. When one is wrong, or anything else is, this is what happens.

Report a wrong price

Email corrections@openstream.com.au with the plan name, what we show, what the provider shows, and a link or screenshot of the provider's page. Every answer page has a “Report” link that pre-fills this.

  • We re-read the provider's own page and record the ongoing price, any introductory price and how many months it runs.
  • An introductory price is never recorded as the ongoing price. Where a page only shows the intro, the plan is held for review rather than published.
  • A correction replaces the served price with the verified one and keeps the prior value on the plan's history page, so the change is visible.

Reports are reviewed within one business day. Verified corrections are live within the hour, and the plan's dated page shows the new confirmation date.

Any other complaint

Email support@openstream.com.au. A person reads it and replies by email. Say which page you were on, what you saw and what you expected; for a price, where on the provider's site you saw the different figure. Mail to any address at openstream.com.au reaches the same team mailbox. The other addresses, by subject, are on the support page.

Your data, or a listing about you

To see, correct or delete anything we hold about you, including an address lookup, an account, an alert or an insurance check, email privacy@openstream.com.au. The privacy page says what we collect. A rights holder who wants a listing, trademark or logo reviewed or removed writes to remove@openstream.com.au naming the page.

What OpenStream is, and is not

The terms put it this way: OpenStream “is a free information service. OpenStream is not a telecommunications or energy provider, does not resell any plan, and does not give financial or personal advice.” It is not an insurer and does not sell insurance; it holds no Australian financial services licence, which is why the car, travel, life and pet pages show no prices and make no recommendation. Any contract you enter is with the provider, on the provider's terms, and a complaint about the service itself goes to them.

What we do not do

We do not take payment for placement, do not reorder plans for any provider, and do not estimate a price we could not read from a public page. Plans with no readable public price are shown as pending, not guessed. See the methodology and how we are paid.

Open pricing means Australians can be better informed, and save more.

Most comparison sites show a fraction of the market: the providers that pay to be listed. OpenStream tracks every NBN brand on NBN Co's register, 149 NBN brands on the register, with 431 priced NBN plans re-read every hour. Nothing is promoted, every price links to the page it came from, and the whole dataset is free to download.
