Cheapest electricity plan on the Powercor network

As of 8 November 2026, the cheapest published electricity plan on the Powercor network (Victoria) for a household using 4,000 kWh a year is 1st Energy's 1st Emerald, Residential - Time of Use at an estimated $93 a month (peak 28.70c/kWh 4pm to 9pm every day, shoulder 15.50c/kWh 9pm to midnight every day and midnight to 11am every day plus 95.30c a day with solar feed-in 0.50c/kWh).

The dearest of the 323 plans from 25 retailers costs $208 a month and the median $119. At 2,000 kWh the cheapest is Tango Energy's Everyday Easy ($59 a month); at 6,000 kWh it is GloBird Energy's GloBird FULLHOUSE Residential (Flat Rate With Controlled Load)-Powercor ($125 a month). The regulator's VDO 2026-27 reference price for this network is $1,633 a year at 4,000 kWh; the cheapest published plan at that usage is $1,121 a year, $512 below it. Figures are OpenStream's estimates from the supply and usage rates each retailer publishes to the Australian Energy Regulator, at the stated annual usage, GST as published and conditional discounts excluded; they are not retailer quotes. Demand-priced, variable-priced and solar-only plans are left out because they have no single honest figure.

How to read this

Every figure is OpenStream's estimate, not a retailer quote: the supply and usage rates each retailer publishes to the Australian Energy Regulator (via Energy Made Easy), applied to the stated annual usage, GST as published, conditional discounts excluded. Prices vary by distribution network, not postcode, so the network page is the record; it links every plan to its regulator entry and keeps a nightly history. Demand-priced, variable-priced and solar-only plans are left out because they have no single honest figure. Errors are possible - check the cited sources. Full method: methodology. Machine-readable: this answer as JSON, MCP, llms.txt.
