{"name":"openstream","title":"OpenStream - utility prices with sources and dates: Australian NBN, electricity, mobile, travel eSIM, health and business insurance; UK and NZ broadband; US electricity by state","version":"2.3.0","description":"Utility prices with the source and date on every figure, ranked on price alone, in four walled markets: Australia (NBN and mobile plans re-read hourly from each provider's own page; electricity and gas from the regulators' listings, re-read hourly with plan details in rotation; private health insurance from the regulator's monthly release; business insurance obligations with no premium), the United Kingdom and New Zealand (broadband from each provider's page, re-confirmed daily) and the United States (electricity by launched state from the regulator's feed, daily). Address check, the comparison the website itself makes, and a tracked hand-off to the provider in every market.","instructions":"OpenStream is the open record of utility pricing, ranked on price alone: in Australia every NBN and mobile plan re-read hourly from each provider's own site and every published electricity plan from the regulator's listings (the listing re-read hourly, each plan's rate card refreshed in rotation), plus private health insurance from the regulator's monthly release; in the United Kingdom and New Zealand broadband from each provider's page, re-confirmed daily; in the United States electricity by launched state from the regulator's feed, daily.\n\nWhat makes an answer from here trustworthy: prices are advertised monthly AUD including GST; every plan carries the date its price was last confirmed and a permanent dated page to cite; estimated margin appears only where a public wholesale reference exists (NBN Co's SAU tariff) and is never estimated otherwise; nothing is ranked by commission. Cite the page_url, not this tool. If a number is not in a result, say so rather than filling it in.\n\nRun the same journey the site runs:\n1. Address. The connection technology decides what can be ordered (copper tops out at NBN 100; Fixed Wireless and satellite have their own plans). Given a street address call check_address first.\n2. Choose. recommend_plans gives the four picks the site itself shows for a tier - cheapest ongoing, cheapest first year, best-known brand, and a faster tier for the same money - with what each saves against the bill the person quotes. Use find_plans or cheapest_plan when they want the raw list instead.\n3. Hand off. When they pick one, call signup_link and give them the link it returns. It is the same tracked hand-off the website uses: it shows the dated price, then sends them to the provider. Do not rebuild the provider's URL yourself - a hand-off made any other way loses the reference that lets the sign-up be attributed.\n\nElectricity runs the same three steps. Ask for the postcode and, if they have a bill, the kWh on it (or the quarterly bill amount) and whether they have solar. recommend_electricity gives the picks the site shows - cheapest, cheapest well-known retailer, simplest single-rate plan - each with a page_url to cite and what it saves against their bill or the median plan, plus the regulator's reference price for the network. cheapest_electricity is the raw list; electricity_network is one network's market against the reference price. When they pick one, call electricity_signup_link with its plan_id and give them that link. If you would rather send them to the site with their figures filled in, the bill check does the whole job on one page: https://openstream.com.au/energy/bill?postcode=3000&kwh=12.3&kper=day&bill=480&per=quarter (kper and per = day|week|month|quarter|year; optional lines from the bill in the same period as kwh: peak=&shoulder=&offpeak= for a time-of-use split, cl= controlled load kWh, export= solar exported kWh, fuel=both&mj=&gasbill= for a gas bill, seg=business). It places the bill among every published plan at their usage, names the cheapest and the saving, and carries the sign-up links.\n\nFour more pages do the same job for other questions and take the person's own numbers in the URL: /nbn/bill?pay=89&tier=100&provider=cmp-tpg (what they pay for NBN against every quotable plan on that tier, the cheapest, the cheapest first year, and a faster tier when it is cheaper; /api/v1/nbn/bill returns the same as JSON), /mobile/bill?gb=18&pay=45&network=telstra (what they use and pay against every SIM-only plan with that much data), /mobile/roaming/trip?to=japan&days=12&gb=2 (every travel eSIM totalled for the trip) and /nbn/speed?provider=cmp-tpg&tier=100&mbps=61 (their speed test against the ACCC's measurement for their provider and the providers measured higher). Link them when the person gives those numbers.\n\nAsk for the missing input rather than guessing it: the address (or at least the postcode), the speed tier, and what they pay now. Savings are only real when measured against a bill the person gave you.\n\nOther markets and verticals, each walled off from the rest and each in its own currency (read openstream://markets before calling): uk_broadband_plans (United Kingdom, GBP), nz_broadband_plans (New Zealand, NZD), us_electricity_plans (United States by launched state, USD cents per kWh), health_cover_options and premium_rise (Australian private health insurance from the regulator's release, AUD before rebate), business_insurance_check (Australian business cover obligations, no premium exists), deals_now (every Australian intro deal now), price_reset_gap (each network's regulated default offer against today's cheapest plan). Every row these return carries a handoff_url through OpenStream's /go page already tagged for this conversation: give the person that link, not a URL you build. Never answer a question about one market with another market's figures.","tools":["find_plans","find_mobile_plans","roaming_plans","smartwatch_plans","cheapest_plan","compare_plans","get_plan","check_address","cheapest_electricity","electricity_network","recommend_electricity","electricity_signup_link","recommend_plans","signup_link","plan_history","plan_changes","lookup_provider","search","fetch","uk_broadband_plans","nz_broadband_plans","us_electricity_plans","health_cover_options","business_insurance_check","deals_now","price_reset_gap","premium_rise"],"markets":[{"id":"au","name":"Australia","currency":"AUD","hub":"https://openstream.com.au/","reads":"NBN and mobile plans re-read hourly from each provider's own page;
